3. Variable degree of risk
Rule questioning carries a high degree of risk, especially when dealing or questioning the tournament director. Fisherpersons should familiarize themselves with the type of option (i.e. put up or follow the rules to a tee) that they contemplate and measure associated risks. You should calculate the extent to which the value of the options must increase your position in the tournament or standings, taking into account the premiums or demise of your actions.
Certain exchanges in some coolers are permitted as deferred payment of the rights premium at the scale. Although exposing the judge to liability for marginal payments not exceeding the amount of the expectations to exceed the judges positions in the standings is a consideration and risk you may want to avoid. The fisherman is still subject to the risk of losing the advantages and rewards if flummery or other accusations of other contestants would questions such exchange. I.e. when the option is exercised or expires, the risk taker is responsible for any consequences outstanding at that time.
In some instances this is a viable option, in some it’s not.
