After a month straight of work with no days off I finally got a Sunday off . I made the best use of my time off and headed straight to Mille Lacs after work Saturday. When I got there the weather wasn’t too nice so we sat it out for a few hours before hitting the water. Saturday evening the bite proved to be tough for us. We didn’t exactly put 100% effort into finding a bite Saturday as the lake was still a bit dicey from the days winds. Tony did score a LUNKER Lake Mille Lacs Northern Pike though.

Saturday we had a better day finding a 2 man limit of slot fish and 20 overs. The bite was a bit slow as we spent most of the day running around pulling a fish or 2 off a spot working most of the day to get our fish. We found pulling lead and changing lure color, size and profile often worked best not being able to find one good solid bait. If it was in the tackle box that day it got a turn to be trolled in the Mille Lacs waters.

We had a little in boat tourney going and if I remember correctly I was up 2 when we got off the water

Here’s just a few pics of some overs, we didn’t picture them all as most were really quick releases and Tony’s majestic northern pike

Very nice. Been wondering where you have been since the end of league. I’m finally freeing and hoping to be fishing very soon.
