If you have a drink, don’t drive, the fuzz up there pride themselves on ruining tourism.

We were up there in June. The best food we found was at the Casino. The one problem is they don’t serve liquor. I did hear that Hunters Point has good pizza. Sorry no help on the fishing part the weather stunk while we were up there. Maybe Will Roseberg can help you out on the fishing.

Really,, drink and drive and you should pay the price ANYWHERE. I just witnessed a bad accident a couple weeks ago from driver that had been drinking, all they had to do was cross the road to the other side, didnt make it forgot to look and Whamm. Something I wish I wouldnt have seen.

As for food, Red Door has great food, Hunters has great food, and Diamond daves in garrison has awsome pizza.

Easy boys he just said a place to eat and drink. Not get fat and tanked. We are just heading home from 5 days here. We ate at Bayview just west of Izaty’s. Food was really good. As for fishing. It hasn’t been hot and heavy. I’d say 2-3 fish per hour pulling lead. We were pulling 30-35′ between 4,5 mile gravel and Big point. Never did find a hot color but jointed shads seemed to work better. Best of luck.

Very few places I will eat here.

    1. Izatys

    2. MSA -Ribs

    3. Toucans at Fishermans Warf- Specials and Shrimp Quesadilla

As mentioned fishing is slow now 10-20 fish days. Pick a larger flat and pull the edges will be the best bet for someome not familiar with searching basin. It can be time consuming.

Castaways is the next resort over (north) from Fishers. They have a nice bar and restaurant there. You can walk over from Fishers and avoid problems with the “fuzz”. Or boat over and tie off to the docks there. Same for Hunters and Red Door if by water. There is a nice little café in the Citgo station in Malmo. Good place for breakfast.

You can set up a shallow water troll just out in front of Fishers and head south. Run a shad rap or hornet in that 8-14 FOW making big “S” turns and changing up speeds. (No boards, just long line behind the boat)Good mix of slot fish, smallies and occasional perch or pike will show up. Early and late are best times. You can run that troll well past Wilderness which is the next resort south of Fishers.

    Good Luck!

thanks everyone for all the tips. Jon, thanks for the tip on the close to shore trolling. That might end up being the game plan if the wind picks up at all. I’ll post back next week and let you know how it works out for me

Hey Wallster, MADD called, they want their soapbox back. I wasn’t saying get f’d and do a hundred down 47. They pull you over up there for reasons they make up on the way from the squad to your window, hate to see someone spend a night in Aitkin for a .09! Fair enough Mother Cabrini?

Well Dan, I hope you havent ever had a family member killed BC of a drunk driver, or ever have to deal with it. Best way to avoid a night in aitkin, just dont do it. Sounds Fair enough. I dont know if you have kids or not, but as for the MADD comment, just think about it if it was your kid.

I will agree with dan on them making up reasons to pull you over. I was pulling the boat from the campground on ann lake up 47 about 2 months ago to the pond. About halfway inbetween i got pulled over. I know i wasnt speeding as i had the cruise set at 55 and the cop got to my window and asked if i knew why he was pulling me over. I said no and he said you were going 68 in a 55 ill be right back. Knowing he couldnt give me a speeding ticket he came back after checking my record( clean) and siad im going to give you a warning have a good day and good luck fishing. There was no point to pull me over im guessing they just get bored up there just like woodbury cops and will pul you over for looking at them! As far as the drunk driving just dont do it
