Great music back then. Crazy names too.

Spyro Gyra was a 70″s band where the music started to get warped a bit. Somewhere I have an album yet from this bunch.

Some many bands have been mentioned….any one brought Three Dog Night to light? They appeared at a free, open air concert here last summer.

I would consider Jonny Cash rock’n’roll. And certainly near the top of the list

All this talk about old bands I went to look through my “collection”. I had piled up my albums under a self in the basement on the concrete floor and I never bothered to look at them for quite awhile now with Ipods and cds. Well either moisture came up through the floor or maybe spilled something and didn’t realize it made it to the albums but a lot of them are stuck together and won’t come apart without tearing, bummer.

For you folks that weren’t around in the ’70’s.

I forgot to mention a couple of the true pioneers, Joe Cocker and Steve Winwood

Seen Joe Cocker a couple times and seen Rod Stewert at Deweys bar in Madison in 1969 and that was his second performance after Madison square gardens. Madison had good booking agents at that time. $10.00 for tickets to get in the door with $2.00 pictures of beer and had a good time, the place was packed. And who can forget the late night broadcasts from, Beaker street, that came from KAAY Little Rock Arkansas.

Ahh…a candle light dinner on the river. Crappie Tom’s wine with a soft Lee Oscar playing in the background.

And just a touch of the fading fall aroma in the air….

    Lou Reed, The velvet Underground.
Rest in peace Lou Reed. Your contribution to rock is undescribeable.

Ive read the begining but no mention of the obvious?.
