My family is in town and my Dad (81) and brother have never caught a walleye over 19″. I had planned on taking them up to the pond either tomorrow morning or Wednesday morning and pull spinners out on the Mud with crawlers. I haven’t fished up there much in the summer and looking for any advice for this time of year. I’ve been watching reports and looks like spinners are the way to go but will take take any advice that’s offered.

Also, with the heat, I’ve been watching the forecast and looks like it will be about 69 degrees up there when we get there about 5AM and we are planning on leaving around noon which it looks to be around 80. Anyone have ways to stay cool up there? I have a bimini cover on the boat that helps and plenty of water.

Run lead is all i have to say if you have the set ups. caught 3 on spinners over the weekend and 1 on a bobber. 47 fish boated saturday and 27 on sunday all on leadcore either on the gravel or out in no mans land in the basin!

I pulled up to hunters yesterday and got some food and got in the lake at their little sand beach.Had the dog in the boat and she wanted to go for a swim also!

Good luck and let us know how you do. I’m pushing my plans back a day with the wind forecast. I think spinners will take fish almost anytime but it seems cranks are turning on recently. I plan to bring everything with.

we saw no good action on the south gravel with spinners, first spot we actually caught what we saw on the graph came off the highway bar gravel and just off. Use the bimini, keep a few towels moist in the cooler, and drink a few waters. We were not set up right for trolling, my on-board charger went to crap and fried my batteries, so we drifted till the breeze dies off ,then went to jig n leech over the side of the boat. Good luck.
