If you find them – They will bite. Fished on the mud from 6:30 to 12:00 and landed 28 eyes. The wind made things difficult but we still managed to have a great day. Half a dozen or so came corking, a few more came rigging, but the best bite came on blades trolled at 1 to 1.3 mph.
Find em, figure out what they want on that given day, and go get em! If you find active fish you will know it – I think we had 3 or 4 doubles.
The key for us on this day was to ride the breakline of the flat. If the bite slowed up on top we would slide off into deeper water and stay right with the pod of fish. Best color seemed to be anything with silver on it.
