I was out last weekend on some deeper gravel seeing if the fish were chasing lead yet. I had zero luck and to be honest did not see many fish at all out there. I plan to give it a whirl this weekend in a couple spots.

I fished gravel on Sloppy Joes last evening in 26 fow and picked up a few in the slot. Leech under a slip bobber. Boat nearby was doing better, but they also were releasing what looked like slot fish.

Wish I had brought a face shield along for the ride back to the landing. Damn mayflies driven by the south wind did not feel good at 25 mph.

I pulled lead for probably a half hour on Sat out in the mud and caught 3 keepers. Sunday on the sand caught 3 keepers and 1 mid 20’s in an hour. On the sand 2 of the keepers had almost swallowed the bait, so I would say they are hitting cranks! 1.8-2.1mph is what I was trolling at.

I’ll be crankin’ with leadcore this weekend and hopefully be able to post a report.
