Casino to 5 mile can it be done with the wheeler??

    Coming down for a few days and am staying at the casino just want to know if there are any active cracks on the lake yet hazards and other wise thank you.

    It can be done, but travel only during daylight. A very active nasty crack runs basically from indian point all the way to pike point in garrison, maybe beyond. I know of a guy who went by wheeler out of casino public access, crossed the breaker in am fine and came back in evening it was 8 feet of open water. He had to go way south of indian point to cross breaker. There is a resort in wigwam bay called north star resort, give them a call to check the latest conditions of that active crack/breaker. Be careful and make sure you have a trail on the gps to mark where you crossed.

    Other than that good luck, that whole west side hasn’t been fished much due no roads leading to that mud.

    Also if your heading to 5 mile gravel, might be best to trailer around to some reosrts on the south east side of the lake, shorter travels.

    Be very carful fell through that same crack a couple weeks ago on foot it looked like a wheeler had just crossed the crack i took two steps on to it n fell in up to my balls scared the crap out of me so check it befor you cross even if you just came across it a hour befor the ice changes all the time even more on warmer day…
