Resort roads open to the mud flats?

I see The Red Door is still good to go… What others are still allowing vehicle traffic? I see Hunters Point is off the grid now . Any reports would help coming up from SE MN and want to pull the house out on the mud.

I’m guessing it’s because nobody obey’s the 10 mph rule. I dont think people understand how much damage they do to the ice when they speed. Hunter’s see’s high volumes of traffic with lots of people driving fast, with th winter we’ve had those roads are toast. I wonder how that’s going to affect the big extravaganza this weekend

I drove out to the mud from Hunter’s last weekend. It was a 35 minute + drive at 10 mph. I didn’t see anyone else going much faster other than the plow trucks and they were probably only doing 20 mph. It’s a really long ride when you are ready to fish, but keeping the ice in good shape is worth it.

Hunters was closing the roads at night as of last weekend.

35+ min is a true statement. I was traveling at the posted speed limit and was passed by someone on the hunter’s pt road last weekend. The next day the crack along the road had extended about 8 inches even with the negative temps and had open water in the cracks. Speed on the roads is the key to maintain them and some people just have a hard time going the posted limits. You wonder why people are going go thru.

I would make phone calls to a couple different resorts and have plan A, B and C ready to implement. I just read Hunters has closed their roads to the mud again.
