east side out to the mud, most of our walleyes came from 24′ and all the big perch came from the top of the flat, dont be shy about going 50′ – 200′ feet in from the edge of the flat for the perch

We were just out of Appledorns, lots of access to good structure out that way, including the deeper water you’ll need to find some Tullibee.

On the East Side I believe Appeldorns, Hunters, and Agate Bay all have truck accessable roads to some of the flats.

Definitly don’t plan on doing any driving off of the main roads with a vehicle though as there are still several areas with ice not yet safe for a truck, so if you want to get away from the crowds you will want to bring a sled or an ATV.

What time do the resorts open up on Saturday so that I can pay the access fee?

Was just at Agate. I believe they open at 6 or 630. I imagine most open around that time. The road there only goes out a mile or so with houses from 18ft to 33ft with most the houses piled up in 26-27ft. Road was in good shape though. Found some good fishing away from the crowds.
