Red Door Ice Conditions and Access Update

    The main sheet of ice broke loose from the north shore again, about 12:30 this afternoon. It’s now open about a 1/4 mile or more wide from Myr Mar to Knox Point. The break heads southeast from Knox Point so as it goes by our place, it is about a half mile out-for now.

    The wind is fierce!

    OUR ICE ACCESS IS CLOSED FOR ALL FORMS OF TRAVEL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

    FYI….that ice had not moved for 10 days and then? Yesterday there were 4-wheelers on 10 plus inches of ice where it is open now.

    I guess I dont feel so bad for having to cancell this year then with all the unstable conditions. I hope your season turns around soon.

    To Red Door’s experience….

    i still say prepare for the conditions, kiss your kids & wife good-bye–tell them you love them–and Go Fish (and hunt)!
