Well we used the public access by Pikes Point, walked out pulling our portables, the ice ranged from 6″-8″ where we fished. Lots of people where setup right in front of the Blue Goose in about 14′. We opted to stay away from the crowd & ended up fishing pikes point, in the scattered rocks from 12′-21′ drilled a pile of holes & hole hopped.Started fishing about 3:00 lots of lookers untill about 4:30 then they’d come screaming off bottom like the dinner bell rang….6:00 came around then she died down.We ended up with 8 eater eyes,1- 30″ northern, & a 15″ pout…Lol
Do to poor hook sets could’ve had a few more on the Ice.
Note to self….. give’em a sec after they hit to then lay into them!!
I lost a few just instantly setting the hook.
Good Luck out there boys & be safe!

Caught 2 eyes on a dead stick tipped with a Shiner, the rest where with chartreuse yellow/orange 1/8 ounce lighting spoons tipped with the head of a shiner or fat head…… The fat heads seemed like they produced better for myself. Why I don’t know.

I was there today and my report is pretty much spot on what yours is. I was About 200 yards away from the open water it was lightning action from 430 to 6 orange or yellow buckshots or lindy fliers were working. One thing differant this week from last was they were all Boxfish today with no big ones, last week it was all big ones.

Man that wind was brutal out there earlier today I Pretty much let the wind blow me and my house out to the spot.thank god it died down or there was no way I’d be able to drag it that far into the wind on glare ice

I was on the west side and there was a wheeler next to us and he drove all the way out to the heave in the ice. About 300 yards From that heave is a massive amount of open water that almost goes all the way to shore on one of the points. The open water is the size of a good lake.
I got some pics of it with some massive whitecaps today.

I’m planning on being back out this up coming Friday.
We had a 21″ being our biggest that day, I had 2 on that easily felt like mid 20″ fish but I’ll never know.

Well we didn’t venture out to far, but with that being said we did have to step over a crack that started from the tip of Pikes Point & ran straight North as far as the eye could see.The crack was about 3″-4″ wide with either open water below or possibly just the melting snow kinda hard to tell.

Not that it makes it any safer, but we did have our Ice picks around our

necks & Ice spikes on our boots.

And yes there was open water straight out 300 yards from Garrison that

ran south past St .Albans Bay,Wigwam Bay,& the casino.I happened to

step into the SA gas station in Garrison & got reminded by them also

Yeah I didn’t feel to proud.

So be safe,& make wise, smart decisions a Walleye isn’t worth falling through for…..Seriously.

Yes… People had wheelers out also.

    I guess that’s your call.
