Ice conditions

    Like many of you i have monday off and we were thinking of taking the first trip of the year to the big pond, but we are skeptical due to all the recent cracks and rescues recently. i was wondering if someone could give me a good update around the lake??? how far people are gettin out safely and so on. or would it be wise just to head farther north and hit winni??? any info would be appreciated!!! thanks and happy holidays to all!

    you could also contact Walleye Dan over at Gull Lake, they were going to be pulling shacks out this week, sounded like better ice and walleyes were biting.

    from onamia to garrison along 169 there was only foot traffic out maybe .5 mile…looked like fairly wide crack still not navigable…saw maybe 30 people fishing…I will not be fishing ML for. awhile
