Headed up to fish solo on Friday night and put in at Terry’s. It was a gorgeous night to be on the water. Water temperature was about 42 degress and weeds are laying down. Fished hard from 6:15 to 2 but only managed 2 walleyes under the slot. Tried allot of different depths, lure types, and fished both rock and weeds but couldn’t get any type of pattern going. Trolling speeds varied from .6 to 1.4. I think if we had a little more wind it might have helped the bite. How did everyone else do?

I was solo out of Terrys as well fished from 6PM-1:15AM. I didn’t catch a fish until after 8pm when the clouds started to break up, then it was pretty steady managed 17 fish. Five fish were under 20″ and the rest were 20″-24″. I did much better on Friday night, but last night was good once the moon came out from behind the clouds. I will say that I was not fishing the same tactics that the loads of boats in the area were trying.

mojogunterPosts: 3313November 14, 2011 at 1:18 am #1008660Friday night had some impatient dude in a Ranger try to sneak into Terrys harbor in front of us. By the sound of it he didnt know there is really shallow rocks on both sides of the channel.
November 14, 2011 at 2:39 am #1008682I was in a blue/white 1650 Crestliner with a 60 HP Mercury motor. Too bad about the impatient guy in the Ranger. It was a disappointing night of fishing for me but never had any issues with any boats all night. Just trying to figure out why I didn’t connect with a few more fish. Oh well that is why they call it fishing. Thank you to all who take the time to post a report as is appreciated.
mojogunterPosts: 3313November 14, 2011 at 2:58 am #1008687Did the ranger hit the barrier around the entrance of the harbor at Terry’s? That had to leave a mark, or just hit rocks with the prop with out the lights to guide him out?
November 14, 2011 at 3:32 am #1008695We were just outside of where the last poles were and I heard him give his boat some throttle like he was going to cut us off to get in. Unfortunately he was a little too far south and you could hear this grinding screaching sound. Its like a stack of bowling balls over there.Normally I feel sorry for anyone hiting rocks but not when you try to cut in front of me.There was a reason why we were going slow with the light on.
November 14, 2011 at 3:44 am #1008696Oh yea we went down the lake and caught 29 walleyes and a gator and kept 8 keepers. Fished fron sunset to 10 PM.Was a nice night with a bright moon and very few boats around. Tullies were starting to show up so that was my last trip out. Heres a hint. Lack of reports on the internet keeps traffic way down
November 14, 2011 at 10:22 am #1008702We put in above Garrison each night… We fished Saturday from 4:30pm till 1 am… Friday night 7pm till 5am and Thursday from 4pm till 1am..
I would guess our total fish count was 50 fish or so…a few pike thrown in the mix.. We fished from the Red Door to Sha Bush…
Great Time was had in this boat… I was in the 619 Ranger with the Pro XS… I was trolling Slow at .5 miles an hour..

We were in a Blue SkeeterNovember 14, 2011 at 1:26 pm #1008731Quote:

Well, that can’t be the reason here. There are approx 30 reports with well over 150 replies about the bite going on at Milly since the Oct full moon. Can’t possibly be it’s mid Nov and most guys have put up the boat for the year and are out hunting. Or in my case, the river is going gangbusters right now and it’s a coin toss as to where to go fishing.

November 14, 2011 at 3:02 pm #1008755I would say reports have been down on most sites or at least mixed reports. A few guys getting some fish and others not doing so well.I remember a couple years ago the landings were full in deer season and there were many more reports and pics on here. Im guessing guys from wisconsin and Iowa didnt drive here on a hunch. You would be surprised at how many watch these sites for the hot bite and adds a lot of pressure to a body of water.Sure helped rid Red Lake of Crappies. And I dont think you are attracting the C&R guys.Thats why I dont post reports or pics on the net anymore.I liked being up there this fall with very few boats around and the landings near empty. Reminded me of the good ole days.
November 14, 2011 at 3:15 pm #1008762I hear ya! I’ve slowed way down on posting too. Much better to not share the sport with others and have my spots all to myself.
How small is Mille Lacs anyway?
