For those of you who havent put the boat away yet. Mille Lacs is putting out some heavy girls right now. Last night my friend Gary and I were working shallow rocks 4-6 FOW running “Perch Rogue’s” in 4-6 ft of water. Think your moving slow? Go slower. We were at .5 MPH barely under the surface. Results were incredible 26 fish total. All but 3 fish were under the 25″ mark. Largest 2 @ 29.50″ – 5 @ 28.00 or better mark. Absolute Slobs and all released. Only a few nights left guys water temps are 42 degree’s and dropping fast. Thanks Gary for being my NetMan

Have the weeds finally died off and laid down? I’m thinking probably so but they were resilient this year, still thick over Oct full moon.

Weeds still abound everywhere. This was another reason we were slow rolling the lures over the top. We were running these only about 6″ under the surface but above the submerged weeds. Funny even the Rocks have weeds Never seen anything like it this year.

Awesome fishing! Beats my day of sitting in a deer stand without seeing any deer.

I’ll be up Thur some time and will likely launch out of either Buzzie’s or Terry’s since my dock and lift are long out of the H2O. Wind will determine what side I fish.
Please all remember just how unforgiving low 40 degree water is on M.L. I wear a survival suit and carry a set of waders in case of an unexpected lack of keel clearance event.

The waders are a good sugestion.. I am off to the pond at 11:00 AM today

We will be launching out of terrys tonight,I am not sure about the wind forecast tonight, seems as though the weather service may have missed again.

Was up last night in the 30 mph winds and snow… Forcast said windy, but clear! Boy were they wrong. Great night, they are on the feed!

Went out of Terrys… Funny that with the nice weather only 2 other boats used that access.

I was the black and red Tuffy. That got unpleasent for a while out there, but the fishing made it worth it!
