The lake is starting to show some signs of change. It is starting to flood in some areas. The warm sun is taking it’s toll of the lakes surface. As of today I did see trucks still driving out of Liberty Beach. Today and also yesterday afternoon I had fisherman out front of my house.

Isle Bay is still kicking out some pound crappies! I hope to find time and hit the ice one more time this weekend!!!

I noticed Minnetonka made a drastic change in ice coloration yesterday. Sitll one ice fisherman out there though. I say be-gone ice, it’s time for boating.

This is how the lake has changed in just a few day’s. With the warm sun and temperatures in the 40-50 deg’s its changing pretty fast! You see more water standing on the lake each day, soon it will become honeycombed and start to drain some its water.

I have been hearing on the radio about rain afternoon and than wind flood warning in the area?

I have one commitment Saturday am and was going perch fishing for the rest of the day…

The lake is changing color with the rain we have had the last few days. My boat harbor is starting to break open along the banks also. The local creeks are starting to flow with the melting of our snow.

Soon the northerns will be spawning in these creeks, followed by the walleyes. Once these creeks open up into the lake at the outlets is when I normally will start looking for fish in the creek’s! The end of the ice fishing season is near…….

You are right, Bobber. I just posted a weekend Leech report and I have never seen ice conditions change so quickly in a matter of 3 days. I was torn between the Mille Lacs crappies and the Leech perch but a friend has a cabin up there so we went perch hunting.

The lake on the westside and around the northend has started to open along the shoreline. On the eastside the shore is still ok in most areas. I did see one guy out on a ATV yesterday, he was out around Lakeside 2 mile. This might be the last weekend to get out on any ice?

Boat season coming soon to Mille Lacs…….

The shorelines around the lake are opening up. The few areas that I knew where one could gain access out on the ice are now open. The ice on lake is turning to a dark color! open water is coming soon……..the lake has changed alot since Saturday.

I would say not, I have been working on Farm Island which near Bay Lake. The ice is getting ready to open up soon…in a week or so maybe sooner!

With the high wind that we currently have it is starting to pile up on our point………..

I just looked at the weather site and the wind is going to blow till early morning. The ice is in the tree’s on the southwest side of Picard point.

Just think I was ice fishing last Friday and Saturday!

I wish the ice would just melt or sink in the lake…….

While I’m impressed by the massive ice pile ups each spring, I wish the same Bobber. I can only imagine how much it costs everyone each spring.

Hey Bobber, if you can get some pictures of the big ice piles, it would be cool to see.

Sorry guy’s, Beers w/boys tonite……..I’ll get a pic posted Friday! The wind let up later last night or it could have been bad. The ice is too thick at this time……….it needs to honeycomb and weaken some before it comes in.

Do you think it’s honeycombed enough? Hopefully we’ll get some badly needed rain this weekend and that’ll really take a toll on the conditions.

Mother nature is suppose to blow out of the south tommorow at 35mph. The northend er’s better hold on.
