I’m curious as to what people are using on their crawlers harness rigs. I’ve always just used mono, but I am thinking about using a superline and a mono leader? Just curious to hear what you guys like. I’m using 6’6″ baitcasters.

10lb XT for me. I have a much better hookup percentage with it.

I use 3 lb diameter braid ( or 8 lb mono) with a molded sinker on a special sliding clip, a bb swivel then 6 to 10 feet of fluorocarbon leader with a glow pink/white snelled hook, and air blown into one end of a half crawler that I hook in the middle. Sometimes I put a glow bead or a red bead ahead of the hook. I tie spinner rigs with fluorocarbon and blow up the worm pretty good to keep it off the bottom because we usually troll at less than 1.0 mph.

I think I’ll pass on captain nightmare. What are you using Joe? I usually just run 10 lb xt. Kinda want to experiment with a braid to mono deal.

I’ve used braid and one problem you have to be careful of is letting it out too quickly. You can tie a nice knot if you do. I still use 10# fluro due to its stiffness. And as always good quality swivels.

I use a fluorocarbon line for all my rig setups I think it helps with my hook sets. It’s durable if rubbed and last along time.

    Hi Brian,

I spool all my spinner reels with 10 lb Clear XT. As for the spinner itself, at Jolly Roger Tackle, we use 15 lb Seaguar Red Label 100% Fluorocarbon for our spinners. We’ve done alot of R&D on line and found this to be the best.

    Hope that helps

7′ St.Croix Triumph MF with Daiwa Accudepth 17 spooled with 10# power pro.

I have been tying my own snells with 12 or 14# vanish.

I do personaly like pp for the sensitivity for bottom feeling I have, however I have not used mono as a main line.

I was using bouncers till recently, now I am running 3 ways as I have found it to be much better for feeling the bottom, espicially in the mud.

That’s just my deal… Maybe a few years and it will be something different?
