Finally made it up to the cabin this weekend and the fishing was great. Launched out of fishers saturday night at 7:30 for the sunset bite and got set up in about 16 to 17 ft on some rocks to do some slip bobbin. At about 8:30 the fish really turned on. My buddy caught a 22.5 followed by another fish in the low 20’s and a 14in keeper. Heard some hooting and hollering from the big fishers launch boat and watched them put a few in the net. At about 9:15 both our bobbers went down at the same time and we ended up with two in the net, one at 22 and mine a chunky 24. Woke up early sunday and went out of fishers. Worked some shallow rocks in 10-15 ft rigging and pulled a keeper but after a while with nothing we took a cruise to the mud. Fishing was here and there in the mud there’s a hatch going on and the fish were not cooperating although we managed a nice 23 and 15 inch keeper. Took another cruise over to three mile to see what was going on and we found some biters. Pulled a few fish there, a 24.5 inch fatty and a crayfish. After drifting a short time I was bit off then my buddy. We were so appauled we left and hit lunch. Made it back out for the sunset bite and it was another great night to be slip bobbin. Made it to our spot and put alot of nice fish in the boat including a overweight 25 incher and 2 more keepers one being 17 inches. With the fish biting all the way to the buzzer its hard to be off the water by 10pm, but next weekend I will be up getting my night fishing fix.
