Thank you!!
As we wait for the courts to act, all the help we get in place is very important.
You will be represented with relentless effort and honor. We will not back off!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU AND YOURS!
Thank you all so much for your support of CASSTODAY in 2011! But we’ve only just begun. In 2012, you all will be represented with honor and relentless effort! PLEASE continue to a play a key, major role in reaching our goals. Goals that protect our natural resources from exclusive and abusive rights! Funding this effort is our biggest foe. We all need to continue to support this effort via CASSTODAY.
The question does not exist asking “if” we will succeed. The question is only “when”.
2012 brings a very confident hope that, finally, our goals will be met and everyone will put the divisiveness, based on race and ethnic origin, behind them. Bet on it with me!!
Again…thank you.
I’ll start the new year.. Donation sent. Thanks for all your hard work Steve, and to all others involved as well.
Dan
Answer to questions of late:
Yes, we are awaiting the Court to take action, one way or another.
I suspect, like the Mn. AG on Tribal related cases, it is taking longer than normal. We can only hope they hear the case sooner than later….
In the meantime, other action could be in the works soon, to address this springs netting during the spawn scenario. Stayed tuned on that!
And also, very importanty, this effort is in need of funding for the future. Since the last court date way back in June of 2011, our funding has been almost non-existent according the people in charge of the Trust. That said, the need to go to the CASSTODAY site and become part of the solution is imperative. The next level of action can’t happen without it!
A $20 to $50 bill (or more) is all it takes from ALL of you…..as this is on YOUR behalf.
THANKS for everyone’s support on this! It will get done. No if’s, ands or buts!!
Click on the CASSTODAY link below. THANKS! PLEASE…..
Steve,
I personally am looking forward to seeing some action taken this coming spring. This wanton waste has gone on far to long. If there is anything this great fishing community can do to help, please let us know.
Thank you,
Jesse
Thanks for your support Jesse. And to Jack Naylor who also posted recently with his generous $$ support!
Watch for “news” in the next week or so on this scenario. My/our next move will be determined by the outcome of a series of events that will take place (or not take place)in the next week to ten days.
Enough is enough! Talk is cheap. Stay tuned…I/we’ve only just begun to fight!!!!!!!

hi Steve,
Wanted to say a quick Hello, and hope all is well this early Spring.
The link you provided did not connect, or it got moved.
Thanks Steve for being a Blessing and going to the front lines.
Jack
I am posting this from Red Doors puter that is why it has Red Door on the posting–Steve Fellegy.
Jack,
The blogs Title–“Senator Franken, Where Are You?” got deleted by the Tribune editors. (They give me zero reasoning) Hopefully many of you get on them for that! Or is Franken off limits? LOL
Here is the text. (Pass this around to others who missed this as well. On facebook pages of everyone? Thanks….)

“The big bail out statement our Mn. DNR always runs to when challenged about Tribal harvest at Lake Mille Lacs, is “it’s Federal. It’s out of our hands and control? Go figure……
So if it is, exclusively, a Federal issue, let’s call out our own Senator Al Franken on this one. After all, he is quoted as saying, ” I will continue to fight to prevent the spread of Asian carp into the Great Lakes, and I’ll do everything I can to help protect the ecosystem and fisheries of Minnesota from this invasive fish.”
With that honorable viewpoint and effort on behalf of Mn. fishermen and fisheries regarding carp, where do you stand, Senator, on 70 tons of walleyes being gill-netted during the spawning season at Lake Mille Lacs? Do you endorse, on behalf of protecting the ecosystem and Lake Mille Lacs fishery, the use of gill-nets taking 70 tons of walleyes while they spawn? Exclusively allowed by ONE race?
Senator? Over a million voting Mn. anglers want to hear and see how you view the Mn. crown jewel, Lake Mille Lacs.
Will you side on the Mn. DNR fisheries management history, that has closed walleye harvest during the spawning season for numerous decades? Fisheries management that has banned the use of gill-nets for game fish harvest for numerous decades in Mn.?
Or, Senator Franken, will you ignore common sense and Mn. DNR history, to allow a racially motivated demise of Lake Mille Lacs walleyes and the local economy that thrives on the lure of the walleye to countless Mn. voters ?
Governor Dayton, 99 percent of the Mn. state reps and Mn. Senators and the Mn. DNR ALL ignore this subject. Hiding behind the guise of “it’s federal”.
Senator Franken? Will you also turn down media to address this issue upfront and publicly? As 70 tons, in a two week period, of walleyes in your own Lake Mille Lacs, get strangled to death in gill-net mesh while they attempt to spawn this spring? The TV camera’s await your answer. Carp but not walleyes?

BREAKING NEWS!!!
THE MN. APPELLATE COURT IS HEARING OUR CASE ON APRIL 12TH!! STAY TUNED….
PLEASE HELP! GO TO THE CASSTODAY.COM LINK BELOW AND HELP US CHANGE HISTORY ON YOUR BEHALF!
YOUR $20 OR MORE EFFORT IS MUCH NEEDED!
Thank you, everyone, for all of your past and present support!
This, most likely, will be a long and complex process–to reach our end goals.
That said, we’ve funded the first round and now are about to enter the 2nd round. It could be the last but most likely will not be. So, at this time, we need to, at least, duplicate our past funding efforts. Now, everyone and more, who put a $20 bill or more at this effort last spring, needs to do so again. Remember, you are investing in yourself and the future of yours. In other words, EVERYONE who is against unequal rights/access to our natural resources etc., needs to step up, again, now.
Again, thank you all. Remember, this is not about me. There is no “I” in team. This effort is as much or more yours than it is mine. In the end, the dividends will be all worth your investment. Bet on it!! Be a team player…click onto the CASSTODAY link below.
is there still a donation can at the Door? I wil get a doantion from everyone at opener at our camp and drop it off.
Thanks guys!!
Yes, the Red Door has a donation jar on the front desk.

Not that we know of. Bob Carlson, who lives on the east shore, has been willing to take cash donations and send them to the Trust. His number is 218-838-6420 so if you are at Hunter’s Point or that area, maybe you can arrange to meet up with him?
Thanks! (SF)
Thanks.
Unfortnately I don’t get by milacs much anymore.
It’d sure be nice to have a place closer to the twin cities when I/someone could drop a few bucks off whenever they wanted.
I write maybe one or two checks a year and just rather deal with giving cash.
Al
You can use a debit or credit card here http://www.casstoday.com/ . (maybe you could give someone the cash you know and trust, if don’t use or have one, and have them use their credit card for that form of payment option on the CASST site?)

Debit card works, thanks, I have also been selling items that I no longer need and having the buyer send Steve whatever they figure the item was worth.
Easy way to contribute.
Al
Update:
We got notice today that the Mn. Supreme Court will NOT review my case so the case is over.
That said, NO IFS ANDS OR BUTS, I will open a new case this spring, using the “direction” the Appeals Court gave me…..and will do so in Beltrami County this coming spring. NO DOUBT!!!
Stay tuned!!
PLEASE don’t back off supporting this effort. I/we/you need to keep the effort ongoing. The CASST site is and will be in place until this mess ends and our goals are met. PLEASE support this for the future case with your $$. Please…
THANK YOU….
