I was at my place at Big Point last night and I turned a light on from my boat house and you could see ol’ marble eyes glowing on the rocks. Probably coule see a half a dozen sets of eyes. We have about 50 yarrds of open water in front of our place now depending on the wind direction. Had a wind change yesterday that took the ice that had been to shore away from shore and slid it to the north. It wont be long now.

Hmm, after that post the next time you turn the light on, look for the nets and dead eyes

Unfortunately I see them netting and spearing every year and it seems they are hitting the point harder each time. It is probably no coincidence that the DNR put a new landing in within a mile of my place. Unfortunately there is not much I can do about it.

Caw, Caw, Caw, Caw……I’ve never heard an Opti make that sound, except yours Mr. N. Makes it easy to know that your around though…..

See you up there – I’m going to use all the lost net weights to tie off to.

Very Funny. That noise you hear as that 20′ white flash rips by you…you know the one that makes your knees shake…that’s my OPTI! I’ll save a spot for you!

Been a long time since I’ve been this excited about opener. I can’t wait to get out there and see where they’re hiding.

Sounds like less than 15 fow is 45-46 but the main lake is still low 40’s if it’s stirred up. Wonder is the north sand will have many boats? -)

Ditto on that. Pretty pumped up this year. Must be due to the river being meesed up all spring. Will be nice to get back on the lake and feel that tap on the end of a lindy rig.

I also don’t remember being this excited for an opener in years. I know for a fact its because the river was messed up and I haven’t taken my boat out yet.

    Opener weather forcast:

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. North northeast wind between 9 and 14 mph.

Typical cold and wet. As for the wind on the lake, I usually just add the 2 numbers together and that usually is pretty close to what we get!
