Heading up to leech lake for a extended weekend of mainly perch fishing. Anyone been out recently and have any Info. that they care to share. We are staying on the northwest corner of steamboat bay. Mostly fished in the walker bay area last year. Does anyone know if it is passable into Kabekona Bay and if so how is the fishing in that area? Thanks in advance for any responses or info. If you would prefer to PM me, Thats great as well.

Got here yesterday and spent the day pullin perch. I was fishing around Moore’s point (walker bay) in 8′. Three hours yesterday and a little sorting and now me and my buddy have perch meat hangovers.

The narrows was loaded with boats and so was the south shore of sandpoint. Take your pick. Today the wind is blowing 20 and its been misting all day. Not much traffic on the lake but should be better tomorrow. The channel to Kab bay is open and plenty of boats in there getting out of the wind.

As for walleyes a few of us from the campground got out and trolled the flats around sand last night until 10 with only a couple fish to show.

    good luck have fun.

There might be some good perch in steamboat too in the channel around Minnesota island….I might try that also.
