Doing a little fishing

Next Monday (7/12) I plan to be on Leech for 5 or 6 days for a family vacation/fishing outing. We plan on staying at a resort on the SE region (Brevik area). I hate to admit but I am at a little disadvantage when it comes to lake fishing, especially for walleyes. I am a Mississippi River catfisherman – not too often to I fish areas without current and seldom do I go for walleyes in the summer – therefore I am trying to solicit a little help from some fellow IDO’ers

To get to the question, are there any specific approaches for mid-summer walleye or perch fishing anybody could recommend? I’m certainly not looking for specific spots – I can figure that out. Rather just looking for a little insight on how you fellas go about catching walleyes or perch this time of year?

Trolling cranks – shallow – reefs – drifting with Lindy Rigs – jigs?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I cant offer too much help as is not the side of the lake I fish. However every thing you mention will work somewhere. The jigs are only if there is a good wind and I fish them on the rock reefs. Drifting rigs is what im doing now but on the west side on sand flats and cabage. Trolling cranks might be your best bet to cover water and explore. If the wind is decent fish will be shallow and if its flat they may be deep. I would be looking for rocks and weed growth. There is a varity of structure types in that are. Good luck
