Leech continues to provide great walleye fishing it looks great for the weekend.
Hit the lake lauched out of walker bay fished up in the Goose island area Im seeing lots of big fish my two biggest this year are 27 Inches nice problem to have. Released both. I like a jig as the fish have a better chance to live if you use a lindy rig they can get it in the gut, Sat. I caught another 27″ eye and it had another hook in it with three feet of line on a lindy setup, I cut it short and released it. On Leech if you catch 30 fish a third will be 20 inches to 27 ” slot fish. The slot is 18″ to 26 ” limit four and one over 26″ The bite is real good on leech now and will only get better as the water warms fish in 8 to 10 ft of water.
Water temps 49 to 44 degress in Walker bay Mon.
Use the wind and fish the windy spots I saw many boats off pine yesterday no need to fish with the crowd move around and fish the many points and shallow flats and the west shore as the minnows are up shallow the fish are there feeding.
I have been using 1/8ozs jigs and down to 1/16 oz with a medium rainbow and I tipped a 1/16 oz crappie knocker jig with a Leech and it produced the biggest fish drifting. Also drifting with a spinner with a leech or slow trolling will get fish. Also a short lindy and Leech should be hot.
If you gut hook a fish on a Lindy leave the hook cut line short in the mouth and the fish will live.
Good Luck this weekend
