I will be heading up to Leech this weekend for a few days of Muskie fishing. I am still very new to the chase on these big boys. Can anyone give me a heads up on what areas to concentrate on. Are the cabbage beds the best place to concentrate on now, or rocks? Shallower water? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

don’t know areas because I’ve never fished the lake.
weeds should start dying off soon turning brown or black. While muskie may use them on occasion, a sure bet is to find the greenest weeds or fish the nearest hard bottom structure. If the water is murky use lures with high visibility (firetiger, chartreuse, orange) or high contrast (white, black, bumblebee) for the best results.
Good luck. I’m going to be chasing some ‘skies myself this weekend.

Thanks for the tips Steve – If i tie into one, you can be sure I will be reporting it come Monday. I have only caught 1 in my life, a very scrappy 6 pounder. So I have lots of room for improvement.
