I Like to title this one “Almost 9# of pure uglyness”

But it sure did put up a heck of a fight

I went to Winnie last weekend with family & friends & these are some pictures of some of the fish we caught. Please read my latest fishing report for more information.

If anyone is intrested in a great resort to go out of on the south side of Winnie contact Denny’s Resort. 218-665-2222. They have a real small incline to get on and off of the ice and plowed roads (if we every get enough snow) From here you can get almost anywhere on the lake. They also offer ice houses for rent and cabins to stay at in the winter.

Maybe you could clean one real slow and take a photo of each step. I’ve heard
they were good but haven’t a clue as to how to clean one.we just let them go.
It dosen’t look like you are touching it are you sure you ate it. Steve

I do try to touch eel pout as least amount as possible while cleaning, but yes we did eat it. The best way to clean an eelpout is to take what I call the backstraps out like you would on a deer. Just guess where they would be located and start cutting, after all could you really make them look worse The next time I catch one I will see if I can get pictures on how to clean them. and by the way they do taste better than an oak plank

They got to be easier than a shovelnose sturgeon, which by the way is quite tasty and not nearly as ugly as a pout. Maybe we can exchange photo’s here. Ha Ha Steve

That sounds great, I have’t caught a sturgen since I was at Stout. Love to see some pix of those things. Make sure you get them to smile pretty for the camera like we did with that eelpout. I know it is hard to them to smile but look at the difference it makes in the photo.lol
