The muskies are the fish to be chasing on Leech Lake this week. Many, many fish reported caught and released by the Leech Lake Guides each week. Most of the action is taking place in Portage Bay in the weeds with some great reports coming from rock points and reefs as well. Pelican Island and Red Rocks producing fish quite consistently. Most anglers having success on small Bucktails such as the Lily Tail and Muskie Candy. Color has been determined day by day with Black/Nickel and White/Nickel being the best producers.
Walleye action is anything but fast, yet there are fish being caught in the evenings near Goose Island on Live Bait Rigs tipped with a crawler trolled or drifted slowly on the 6-8′ flat west of the island.
Summer is almost over,,,,so you best take time to go fishing…right now, go muskie fishing!
