There is no such thing as a “Bad Hair” day if your fishing for muskies on Leech Lake. The big toothy critters are on the move and if your bait of choice is a bucktail, well you have made a fine choice. The muskies have been very active and catchable. Covering lots of water and searching for the active/hungry fish has been the key. The best way to do that lately has been the “BuckTail” spinner. In-line spinners such as the Mepps Giant Killer, or Fudally Muskie Candy are working well. Moderate speed retrieves over the cabbage beds or some of the rock piles on the main lake working well. Look to Pelican Reef, West Bar for some fish on the rocks or try Two Points and Five Mile for weed fish. Hang on cause the action has been great!!!
Bass fishing remians stable and good accross the lake with good shallow action in the early mornings casting Northland jawbreaker spoons to the edge of the rice beds in Boy Bay. Some good reports from Federal Dam as well.
Walleye fishing…..well, could we talk you into perch or Northern fishing?
