    Ice anglers are now counting days until we have walk-able ice in the Leech Lake area. Many smaller lakes in the area have skim-ice as does some of the bays of Leech. However some continued cooler weather in needed to firm up this ice. Good news is that most of this ice did not form until after the snowstorms post Thanksgiving, therefore the ice is clear and free of snow cover.

    Look for walkable, fishable ice soon in the Leech Lake Area.

    Re-spool your reels with new line and sharpen your hooks it’s almost time.

    D-man,

    Is there a way to access the Cedar point area on walker bay without having to cross the bay for early ice?

    Sorry I dont know the answer to that question. I recieve this report from the Leech Lake Guide Coalition every week or so and post it here being there are no reports coming out of that area yet.
