Great fish! Welcome to the site!

What resort were you fishing out of? Do you recommend it for others?

    Thanks,

I own a Resort on Leech Lake so my opinion MAY be biased. The Walleye was caught on one of the humps off Rogers Point by the son-in-law and granddaughter of my Uncles. The one in the pic is 30″ the others released were 22″ to 24″.

No way. I’ve been driving to Red Lake and winnie for fish and here it is a half a mile from my place. I have a cabin on Miller bay. Looks like those are Anderson’s resort boats in the background. You will see me out fishing this weekend. If you do say Hi. I am in a blue and green Ranger 692 with a Merc 175 EFI.

I’m on the East side of the Lake and I don’t get out fishing alot. When I do I try to hit the reefs out front and up by Bear Island. Alot of Walleye are being caught in the evening/morning on most all of the humps. Most are still in the Slot though. If I get over by Rogers Point and see you I will stop and say Hi!!

I fished Leech Tues and Wed this week, and caught 3 fish the whole time!!! A 19″ Musky, and two tiny Perch. Last year the only walleye we caught was my 23″. I need to try earlier in the morning i think. Nice 30″ Walleye!!!

Would that be Chippewa Resort by any chance? How goes the cormorant removal project?

Ok you Caught me!! The bird numbers are down but not as far as I believe they will have to go. The small walleye are starting to show up now, our guests are reporting catching some 3″(this years) and 10″(last years) walleye. Even some small Muskies! See you on the Lake!

From what I’m seeing the comorants are staying in the middle of the lake. There are plenty left. The other disturbing thing is that the pelican numbers seem to be on the rise. I was out last weekend and they were out doing their dirty work together As far as the fishing goes. I went out for 4 hours with only a couple of northerns to show for it. I was pulling crawlers mostly trying to find fish. This weekend I think its time for the cranks.
