The warm weather has allowed anglers to fish in very comfortable climates this fall, yet the coolest parts of the day are producing the best fish.
Morning and evenings anglers are finding walleyes shallow on the rock points of the main lake. Pelican reef, Stoney Point, Rogers Point all holding fish and giving em up come sunrise and sunset. Daytime bite has slowed a bit lately. Some good fish also coming from the humps in Walker Bay toward evening. Most of the bite is a jig and minnow bite yet Slip Bobbers tipped with a minnow are doing very well in less than 6’ of water on the points. Muskie reports are scattered with large schools of baitfish showing up in Walker Bay the trolling anglers are starting to catch fish.
Duck Hunters are reporting that hunts following windy days are doing well with some BlueBills and Goldeneyes showing up now, some Ringbills on the smaller water along with Mallards. Patience is key and watch the weather a change and there WILL be more birds.
Deer hunters reporting good success as a whole with many deer being registered across the county. It was reported that most hunters sweated off a few pounds with the unseasonably warm weather. So this question was asked…Do they make lightweight blaze clothing and why don’t any of us own it.?
Enjoy your time outdoors with friends.
