There are lots of 22″-26″ fish out there. Taking pictures of mid-twenty inch fish is starting to get quite redundant but we never tire of setting the hook and reeling in this quality of fish. Not to mention the “certain kind of grin” we get when we hoist these beauties. Some areas hold more keepers but limits do come with some patience. With water slowly warming, I expect to soon be able to catch Walleyes a dozen different ways including artificial lures, minnows, leeches and crawlers as well. For now, I’m still starting with a jig and minnow and keeping the drift speed under .5 or so seems to be key yet.

sounds like the same problem we have had here on mille lacs for years….. all I can say is, enjoy while it lasts, and hopefully you don’t end up with the same issues we have now

It’s really not that bad. Limits can be had…as long as you are willing to leave slots to find the eaters. That is hard to do!!

    What were the water temps?

50-55 on the big lake. 45-50 in Walker Bay (surface temp).

Dave has the best hair in fishing today, nobody can top his hairdo after a day on the water.
