The Northwest wind lit up some of the community holes yesterday. Fish were bangin’ in 6-10 f.o.w. Slowing your boat speed with a drift sock, trolling motor or tiller to under .5 or .6 was the key to getting bites. Fish in my boat were anywhere from 14″-24″. Here are couple of two-footers.

We were up on Leech earlier in the week and had a good time even though it rained start to finish. Thanks for the updates. Chances are I will be sneaking back up there some time in the next week for a fishing fun day. I owe a couple guys some time holding rods versus cameras.

Ya…Were they even available because opening weekend I couldn’t find anyone selling them so I used Fats. Has that situation changed? Thanks and see you Sat/Sun on the lake! RR

When the bite is “on”, it doesn’t seem to matter. When the bite slows I think you can pick up a few more bites with Shiners. Shiners have been a little hard to come by but after this weekend’s warm weather they should be everywhere.

Earlier this week Reed’s was the only shop that had them in Walker. Swanson’s in Hackensack didn’t have any either. You might want to call ahead to some of the shops to check the status if you plan to head up this weekend. I know we blew a couple hours chasing around looking only to come up empty handed while we waited for Reeds to open.
