Heading up to Leech the first weekend of October this year, I want to pick your brains as far as structure / presentations. I have fished Leech in the fall before but we usually go when the water is much cooler. I suspect the water temps will be in the low 60’s high 50’s at this point in time. Whats the typical presentation / stucture this time of year on Leech? Big minnow & jig in the rocks? Pitching jig and plastics? shallow cranks? Lindy’s and big chubs….Looking more for big fish over numbers but can only assume they will be around thae same structure. If anyone is willing to share some local knowledge that woul dbe awesome…Tight Lines…

Im more about numbers so im jigging fatheads now but a rig & chub in the same areas may get the bigger fish. as the post prior said, wind blown points and shore lines. I also do well on the off shore sand flats this time of year. Have got fish recently as shallow as 7ft. I don’t fish the rocks this time of year and really have no clue if they would be there.

I have been wanting to try rigging chubs in the fall. What is a chub rig? How much weight, leader length, style of weight? I’ll be using this on the river so I’ll need to modify but it’s something that I’ve wanted to try. Thanks

Trolling at night with minnowbaits like original rapalas on 8′-12′ flats and shorelines can be very productive too.
