Back home from the Iowa showdown fishing leech lake today and Matt from Chicago. The Iowa boys tied for biggest fish. Pot split cleaned some nice under fish 17″ calm wind this morning then it blew from the south. Fish are still eating May Flies slow death hook with a blue smiley blade was the best with a crawler on the rocks. A lindy also worked. Pics of Dave and Matt with their fish.
I don’t fish when I guide but after the first hour with no fish I threw out a slow death and a crawler caught a fish first minute and handed the rod to Matt just to show them fish are here and I was marking alot. Tuff to teach rookies about Lindy rigging but they all caught their own bites
