The walleye bite has been very good on Leech lake so far this year. Fish have moved from spring locations and can be found on numerous structure types. Weeds, rocks and sand flats are all holding fish as of now. I am still jigging minnows but many are using rigs with leeches, crawlers or minnows. Numbers of year classes are present this year making for a good mix of nice sized keepers along with lots of slot fish for battling . Limits have been the norm and we are seeing some over slot fish as well. Today I had a great bite with 30 fish in just 4 hours. Started in the weeds and finished in the rocks.
