I have a friend up from S MN and would like to find him & his wife some eater walleyes on Leech tomorrow 6-7-13. The wind has been from the E and SE for the last couple of days but not real strong and the weather for tomorrow says little or know wind. Looking for suggestions?

    Thanks!

Two points and North of there produced well in 8′-14′ last weekend. Mostly eater fish for us with a few throwbacks. Northern were also on the chew with a few 5lb fish for the pan. I was consistently rip jigging vs. dragging my jighead (Tipped with shiner of course. Color didn’t seem to matter although clown color was very good…) and that seemed to work best. The grass flats in 8′ (That shoreline North of 5 mile point produced well for bigger fish). No keepers there at all. If the wind is blowing these locations in Portage Bay will produce…Good luck…RR

Portage bay was pretty good all last week. Active fish locations really depended on wind direction/speed.

For a North or South Wind, Sugar, Battle Points and 5 Mile points were producing. For East Winds, Two Points and Safe Harbor were good bets. Never had a west wind all week so I can’t help with that one, but i’d assume some shoreline structure on the East side.

The west side is still giving up fish. However the fish seemed to have move out a bit from shore. Rather then 8/9ft it was 11/12ft but still good numbers. We boated over 30 today but fished numerous spots for them. With no wind you will need to troll about till you locate fish work them over, they can still be had but you may have to work for’m. We used 1/8 jigs and spot tails and had a decent drift all day. As some one mentioned, don’t drag your gig
