I got out with my bro for a 4 hour trolling session this afternoon. It started out a little slow but we ended the day with seven eyes, four fish between 24 and 27 inches and another three ‘eyes and a Pike for the pan. All of our fish today fell to #9 Shad Raps trolled over 18 to 30 f.o.w. @ 1.8 mph. And a jumpin’ baby Muskie too!

Trolling shads this time of year is a great technique. In a few weeks it’ll be a jig and a minnow for me. Nice work!

Nice fish! I was up at leech last wknd in the sailing regatta and spent the evenings trolling SSR’s in 12′ along weedlines. Fishing was pretty good for eyes that way too. Caught a lot of snot-rockets also and lost several SSR’s to the toothy devils. Also found perch in the typical fall locations already with several jumbo’s coming on the rap’s.

We did the Regatta too. I was kicking myself for not bringing a couple of trolling rods with. Slow sailing but perfect trolling speeds.

We sailed Chili Winds…had the same thought about a hundred times on Sunday…”why am I not fishing”.

    What boat did you crew?

I fished a couple hours after dark Fri and Sat, nite bite was good too. Heading back up in two weeks.

We sailed the Alerion 28, Cetacia II. I’m a big fan of that Tarton 27!
