I have been lucky enough to have some trips the last 4 days and the fishing has been pretty good. I have moved from rocks to weeds and humps and finding fish in both areas. The mix of weeds on the north end of walker bay and the cabbage in steamboat bay are holding walleyes of all sizes. I have been rigging leeches in the weeds in 10 to 14ft. I know of another guide that has been slip bobbering walleyes in steamboat bay. As is in any area you need to find the school as they can be scattered in large weedy areas.
The deeper humps have been giving up nice fish with few keepers. I have been rigging crawlers for this bite. In either of the areas I have been fishing 10 to 15 or so walleyes in a 4 hour period has been common. There is allot of areas giving up walleyes on leech right now. I would guess they are still on the off shore rocks also.
