The bite was pretty good on Saturday. I had a family out for a 1/2 day and we had a decent wind. We drifted 3 areas before finding active fish and never had to fish anywhere near another boat. The lake was busy and the wind had changed from Friday so I didn’t even go to the spot I had done so well on Friday. We didn’t have any big fish Saturday but 1/2 a dozen in the slot along with our 8 keepers. Pictured below are “kids first walleye” picks. They were little jiggers!!

Sunday had the same group, we had no wind but I headed to the off shore spot from Saturday. I could only troll but I stayed near a break and ripped jigged a few fish. Most the fish were off the break and I couldn’t them to bite a jig. Had I not had 5 lines to deal with I would have dropped rigs on them. We fished for 2 hours and had 6 walleyes with just 2 keepers so I started to move. I wasn’t able to find better fishing with only one other keeper and a couple norhterns. Should have never left the fish but I know better but not bad for a 1/2 day.

I have had limits of fish all but 2 days fishing. The interesting part is that all limit days were on different spots. The walleye are not every where on the lake and if you fish the west side you know how much 10ft water there is for fish to be located. Several of my good days have not started out that way but moving proved to be successful. I have been only jigging minnows but the rig will soon come into play. Saturday’s and Sundays fish came from an off shore sand flat along ways from shore.
