On Saturday, Coralville was wide open and ice free for as much as I could see of the 17 mile stretch. My guess is that RR is much the same.

The flow out of the dam at Red Rock is 17,000 cfs which is plenty to launch the boat. I haven’t heard any reports on the fishing but I would guess the water temp is still pretty cold. I was on the river below Saylorville on Saturday and the water temp was 37. Once it gets up to the 40 degree mark, the fishing should pick up considerably. Let me know if you want to go down, I could take an afternoon off and we could give it a try.

Thanks for the report on the river. Where did you put in at ? How far up towards the dam did you get the last time I was up there I messed up a prop. It was a smaller boat too. Is there enough water for a 17 fish&sky ? Would love to get out some day soon but I just took on a part time job and it is from 12:30 to 4:00 pm . Maybe a weekend ok. Went over the dam today and all the ice is down in party cove and there is not much of it left. All the ice on the lake should be gone by Wed. Now just need someone to go and help put the boat in . Need a test run before going south to Norfork next week.

I put in at the Sycamore Access on NW 66th. I ran all the way up to the dam. I have an 1800 Pro V so you shouldn’t have trouble with your boat. There are some shallow areas that you need to be aware of though.
