Prairie Lake, Cedar Falls

The DNR put a bunch of the “put and take” trout into Prairie Lake today. It was a good event and the trout were easy pickins. They even had hot chocolate and hot dogs. Any town with a deep old quarry or borrow pit should see if they’ll stock it with trout in the winter. They’re lots more fun than panfish to catch through the ice.

I agree with you bigesox,I like to take my 12 year old niece and 8 yr old nephew out in the ice tent so we can watch them come up and hit.Lots of fun(and they get along)until the boy catches a fish then he wants to tell everyone else on the ice how to do it lol.
