Hit a few lakes this last weekend with some fairly good luck. Started out with Little Wall Lake on Sat. morning. 7″ of good ice with the crappie bite going well. Managed 12 crappie all 8-9 1/2″.

Next we headed up north to a little lake by Clarion called Morse Lake. 5 of us spread out and covered a lot of area, but only had 23 to show for it. Two that were around 10″ and the rest being sub par. Did hear of a few 11″ + being caught, but not by anyone around us. Minnows were ok, but waxy’s outperformed 3 to 1.

Headed back to Little Wall on Sunday afternoon around 3:00 until 5:00 and had a hay day. 31 crappie and 1 nice 9″ perch. Had all but 2 come on a pimple with a minnow head. Spotted fish all afternoon. Should have had the kid’s with me.

Posted another report on Clear Lake.

Hit Little Wall again on Sat the 20th, and same story, 25 crappie, all about 8-9 1/2″. Mixed in a few small bluegills and 4 perch about 6″. All along the south boat ramp in 5 ft of water.

Hit Beed’s on Sunday up by Hampton. There were a couple of permanent shacks already out. 8″ of ice. Only caught smaller gills.

Left Beed’s for a small pit next to the Interstate and Hwy 3. Some guys had half a 5 gallon bucket full of 7-9″ perch, but nothing bigger. We went to the other side of the pit and caught 8 gills and 13 crappie. No huge ones here either.

    Will keep looking. Good Luck!
