Andy and I made it out today to fish the Iowa River. Ice was anywhere from 3-4″ but making ice quickly. We fished in depths of 10-18′ FOW- Caught a million dinks, then I had one smoke it, and broke off. Ten minutes later, I had one more fish crush my bait- and landed a nice 20″ walleye. That hit from that fish was well worth being on the ice today! And it was BRUTALLY cold out there today- but again, Andy and I were able to stay outside and hole hop with our snosuits on. Those things blow my mind away. I had on a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans…stayed warm the entire time.
Got quite a few nice photos of the deer too, they were camera happy today- I think it was the cold, they didn’t want to get out of their beds…
Stay warm out there! I gotta go eat my fresh walleye dinner!
