hit the perch pond this morning and the wind was HOWLING fished from 6:30-11 in 16 fow caught a dozen real nice gills, my 1 crappie(each trip this year has yielded 1 and only 1 crappie) and a lot of small perch. about mid morning I started to have several fish come up(from the bottom to about 3′) and check the bait out but no bites. I tried every type of jigging motion and nothing so I started switching jigs and baits. tried some plastics for the 1st time and nothing, finally put on a 4mm gold/glow fiska and the bite took off again..it’s strange how a color/jig can make that much difference. caught a few smaller bass also. all fish were released. ice was good 7″
