Come on all you Iowa boys. How’s the ice looking? I got on a nice pond today with a buddy. about a 4 acre pond just west of iowa city and it had about 2.5 inches of solid ice. We got into a few medium sized gills and 3 absolute pigs that went 10″ easy and thick. No pics today but I will have the camera ready next time I fish it. I tried a little cecil first and they wouldn’t hit it. switched to a blood red mini mert (larger one) and bingo. Then I tried a pink genz worm just because i could get it down faster and they wouldn’t hit it so I went back to the mini mert and caught some more. This snow is not what we need right now but the forecast is looking nice and chilly so we should keep making ice.
