Any Ideas on Smallmouths in North Central Iowa??

    Just hitting the summer blues and hoping some smallmouth might be happening somewhere?? Any ideas where a guy could go as I have never fished for them before. Thanks

    If you have a boat you cant beat West Okoboji or Big Spirit.

    Check the rivers out. Iowa river, cedar river, wapsi, shell rock. They are all full of smallies and they bite all year long.

    Git yerself a Rebel craw and just start chucking it into the current seams on any river with a rock bottom. I caught 3 catfish in addition to about 20 smallies on a float of the muddy Cedar on Saturday.

    Although i’ve never fished it i’ve heard some very good things about the shellrock, some very nice catches and alot of numbers to keep a guy busy.
