I know this isn’t fishing, but if you fry em up with some fresh walleye or catfish they taste amazing, so there is my networking to post this on a fishing forum!

Anyone finding any, preferably north of HWY 30? I’ve read some positive reports from the DesMoines/Southern Iowa areas, so they are only days away up here!!!

I was out for a short period to day around Cedar Falls, found nothing.

The small gray’s should be out in a week or so around here.
In about 2 weeks we will fine the bigger yellows morels. when you fish the Trout steams keep a eye out along the hill sides for elm tree’s.

Got me fired up for going out to check now. Had 6″ of rain in the last 3 days so if a little sun comes out I might just find some. Heard yesterday they were finding them in NW Ia. . Spring time at its finest.

Found about two dozen here in Central Iowa this morning. Mostly smaller greys with a few medium tans. Tomorrow should be an AMAZING day!!!

I found around twenty grays near Iowa City yesterday. I would have gotten more, but I ran out of time.

Found about 3 lbs Wednesday north of Clinton, Ia. mixed bag of fresh grays with a few in the 3″ range and a few 5″ yellows…south and east hillsides best IF the moisture is there…top of the hills in the timber are pretty dry…have to look for the best under growth…shroons seem to be scattered but they are out there…north facing hillsides are just starting to heat up shroon wise, again look for moisture…next weekend should be prime time for the big yellows here. Remember to use a mesh bag to “reseed” the spores.
