Ended up fishing Coralville this morning with my daughter, and Palo this afternoon by myself.
Coralville was interesting to say the least. We were just there to do a little catfishing, but when we got there about 6:30, the MacBride ramp was parked darned near 3/4 full with the crappie fisherman. That must’ve been one heck of an event going on down there. We headed North past Sandy Beach and my daughter pulled what was easily her biggest forktail to date; about a 5 pounder.
Palo was just sight-fishing for ‘gills. Ended up catching a pretty good number, although they’re still a bit finicky. I’d guess another few of these 80° days and they’ll be slamming a bare hook if it gets too close.
