Spent Friday evening with the wife on Big Creek. Walleyes are in the shallows and you can catch them by the 100’s. We only caught two keepers along with 10 nice crappies. Hopefully everyone will obey the new limits on Big Creek for walleyes, as this lake will be a terrific fishery if people let these smaller fish go. The slot limit is 15-18″ with three being the limit. Only one fish over 18″. We did also catch a number of smallmouth with one going 18″, the other were very small. I took the kids out on Saturday afternoon and I was so busy baiting hooks and removing fish that I didn’t get to fish for the first 45 minutes. Great to see the kid’s faces light up like that. Got out again on Monday morning and although the fish were still on the bite, we didn’t catch them as before. Only one keeper walleye. Couldn’t get the crappies biting at all.
