Ice fishen get together

How about an ice fishen get together for our Iowa ftr viewers. The ice has been so iffy up to now that I know your all just ichen to get out there. A two day over nighter centrally located at say West lake, Three or Twelve mile, Rock creek… any suggestions? Maybe the 3rd or 4th week in January? I vote for west lake because the Casino hotel has great food and is with in walking and two way radio distance of the lake. Not to mention the @#$$$$ Gambling during off bite times…

Could be a good time. I’m familiar with all the others, but where is West Lake.

You guys might want to consider something on the Mississippi River. Reports from FTR point to an incredible panfish bite on the backwaters. If you need a hand setting something like this up, give me a holler and we’ll announce times and dates on FTR. Our IA contingency has always wanted an event held in their neck of the woods and you’d draw numbers from that crowd.

Just a thought… hope this works out.

I’m all for it, but probably can’t travel a great distance. Can we try to keep it within about two hours of CR?

My suggestions would be MacBride, Lake Meyer (Ft Atkinson), or Miss River.

West lake is south of Desmoines on I 35 across from osceola. Mcbride could be fun for lots of numbers and occasional slabs. Bussey lake above Guttenburg is one place James for a river over nighter, the blue gills are good sized up there last year & this year. Hey Lee bruce are you getting any of this? … {John}

I’m all for it John, But would it be limited to just Iowa icers, or is it open to all ftr and ftl members. Sure would be a great way to put faces with names from these sites. From what I’m hearing, it might have to be an open water meet if held in southern Ia.

I think it should be open to all ftr & ftl viewers Herb. The last weekend ” 25th & 26th ” of January may be the better call considering that the next two days are going to be in the 50’s. Have the Indians down at Tama ever performed an Ice Dance ? {John}

Even in all the wind on Friday we still got a dozen real nice gills and crappie . Butthis in up here by PdC..Just a thought.

Ecnook I’ve been working seven days a week for a while just bieding my time & saving for my fishen toys until the Ice down here is really prime. I am constantly surrounded by fishing pictures. I know Hundreds of crappie & blue gill are coming my way. It’s just around the corner……… {John}
